Cross Infection Control
At Anokhi Dental we place great importance on cross infection control throughout the practice. Infection control policies and procedures are constantly changing and our team attends regular training seminars at the University of Sydney and the Australian Dental Association in order to stay up to date with these changes.
We also have a dedicated, full time staff member to manage our sterilisation bay and assist in infection control. This means that you can have peace of mind knowing that you are being treated in a safe environment.
Our state of the art sterilisation bay is designed for optimal performance and all of our equipment is purchased locally and compliant with TGA standards. We also adhere to a strict schedule of regular testing, calibration and servicing of our equipment.
Where possible we utilise biodegradable single use disposable items. All reusable instruments are cleaned in a hospital grade instrument washer and then sterilised in a TGA approved autoclave in accordance with current Australian standards. Daily tests are also run on our equipment to ensure they are functioning correctly.
Our sterilisation procedure incorporates a fully computerised barcode tracking system. The system is identical to those used in many hospital sterilisation departments and has been adapted for use in dental practices. All of our instrument bags are issued a unique barcode that is linked to a specific sterilisation cycle. This means we can be absolutely sure that the instruments used during your treatment have been sterilised to the highest standards.
We are also proud to be a QIP accredited practice. This means that we have demonstrated and implemented evidence-based, consistent standards of quality care – as per the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards. This is an ongoing process which we regularly update and implement.
Within the surgeries and around the practice we also adhere to strict protocols around infection control. We regularly review and update these protocols at our team meetings to ensure you are always receiving the very best and safest of care.
