Dr Ian Hedley received his dental degree from the currently best rated dental school in the world, the Dental Institute at King’s College London, part of the prestigious University of London. He completed his rigorous training at the world-renowned Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ hospitals in central London and brings with him a unique perspective to general dentistry and Anokhi Dental.
He initially trained as a physical therapist in San Diego, California and then worked in his own private practice for almost 10 years. During this time, he developed a special interest in the management of jaw joint (TMJ) dysfunction, headaches and neck pain. This inspired him to train as a dental surgeon, allowing him to provide a more holistic treatment approach for his patients. After completing his dental degree he worked in private practice in London as a holistic dentist.
He strives to excel at all aspects of general dentistry for all ages. He particularly enjoys the satisfying nature of restorative dentistry and works with master technicians to produce exquisite restorations that allow his patients to once again enjoy great function and aesthetics. Alongside a wide range of general dental services
Dr Hedley also has a special interest in early intervention orthodontic and orthopaedic work in children to guide facial growth and enable the development of a broad wide smile, well developed face and clear airways. He has been fortunate to have been inspired and mentored by some of the most progressive thinkers within this field. He also has extensive knowledge about the work of Dr Weston A Price and its significance on dental and general health and incorporates this into his own daily life and the meals of his family.
Dr Hedley is committed to dental excellence and spends much of his spare time on continuing education programmes around the world having recently studied in Dubai, Florida, London and Sydney. His dental philosophy is to treat his patients the way he would expect himself and his family to be treated. His patients comment on his relaxed demeanour, easy chair side manner and excellent communication skills.
He has been an active member of numerous dental societies. Including the British Dental Society, British Orthodontic Society, British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the BSSCMD and the IAOMT amongst others.
